The school year has begun, but that doesn’t have to mean the end of outdoor festivals.
Patchogue-Medford Library’s third annual Fiesta with PML is coming to the Roe Walkway this Saturday, bringing live music and fun activities just off of Main Street.
The festival will run from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. in the outdoor walkway next to the library (which is the area also shared by Toast Coffeehouse behind its 46 E. Main St. location).
The Santana cover band Milagro will perform throughout the afternoon (a YouTube video of them performing in 2010 is below), food will be available and activities during the event include arts and crafts for children along with financial planning for adults. Carlos Rodas will share his MC talents, along with local DJ, Cesar Vera to host the event. And, local ceramicist Manuel Paucar will demonstrate to kids his artisan craftwork.
Traditional artwork and crafts will also be sold at the event by vendors, including creations from different Latin American countries. In case of rain, the event will instead take place on Sunday, September 18th at the same time. This year, the Library’s annual festival will be sponsored by a grant from the American Library Association and FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), and will include representatives from local financial literacy organizations that can chat bilingually with families who attend.
