As community concern heightens around the spread of the coronavirus, please know that your Library has procedures in place to continually monitor public health concerns, including the spread of COVID-19. We have educated our staff and patrons who come into our building on the CDC’s recommendations for staying healthy, including frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes appropriately and staying home when sick.
The Library’s administration has met with all custodial staff and our regular cleaning company to ensure that we are using products that will reduce the spread of viruses and have increased the number of times cleanings take place throughout the day. In addition, we’ve increased to hourly cleanings of doorknobs, switches, service desks other frequently used surfaces. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer and wipes are available throughout our buildings.
At this time, we are continuing with our regular program schedule, but we may need to adjust that in the coming weeks.
We will provide regular updates through our website and social media outlets as we receive more information and monitor the CDC, WHO and local public health officials’ recommendations. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the director of the Library at 631-654-4700, x300.
