You can always get books and movies from Patchogue-Medford Library, but your library card can also help you get outside to play games more this summer.
Patchogue-Medford Library now offers outdoor games that can be borrowed, taken home and played outside in your backyard with your family or at your next get together with friends.
Outdoor games and items available include Kan-Jam, Bocce, Badminton, 2-in-1 Bag Toss/Washer Toss, Croquet, Giant Bag Toss and water sprinklers.
To collect these outdoor items, just visit the Reference desk on the main floor of the library and staff members there can get you set up.
These items join a variety of things available to library card holders that go beyond just books and movies. Fishing rods, a ukulele, a GoPro video camera with head strap, a GPS and even a movie projector are also available by visiting the Reference desk with a library card.
Patchogue-Medford Library will also be out and about at a variety of events in the community this summer. This includes the Medford Summer Concert series events starting this Wednesday at Medford Memorial Park (located at the intersection of Route 112 and Peconic Avenue), and also running July 27, August 10th and August 24th. All of the concerts start at 7 p.m.
The library is also holding Story Time at Davis Park on Tuesdays throughout the summer at the Post Office/Library from 12 p.m.-12:45 p.m. All are welcome to these events, which are taking place July 19 and 26 as well as every Tuesday in August from 12 p.m.-12:45 p.m.
