Get Workforce Ready with Career Online High School
Patchogue Medford Library offers adults in Suffolk County the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certification online through Career Online High School.
The library’s pilot program is open to all residents of Suffolk County age 19 and up. We provide a limited number of scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to expand their career opportunities, prepare for workforce entry and continue their education. Applicants who successfully complete an online self-assessment and a two-week prerequisite course, followed by an in-person interview, will be considered for a scholarship to attend.
All enrollees in Career Online High School will be paired with an online academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program.
Career Online High School is not a High-School Equivalency program and is not a direct substitute for TASC. Attendees will receive an accredited diploma after completion. If you are interested in TASC and in exploring the other 2 pathways to high school equivalency in New York State, please visit the New York State Department of Education HSE website .
We look forward to helping you achieve your educational and career goals.
To See if Career Online High School is right for you:
Complete the online self-assessment which asks a series of questions about things like your access to a computer, how much time you can dedicate to coursework and includes an essay question. You will be contacted by the library within 3 business days to discuss your options.
