Now on display is a collection of aerial photographs of the Patchogue area from Jim Mooney’s Eagle Eye Aerial Photography. All the photographs were taken by Jim Mooney between the years of 1957 and 1990 and were donated to the Patchogue-Medford Library’s Celia M. Hastings Local History Room courtesy of Frank J. Mooney, former Editor of Patchogue’s Main Street Press.


About the Photographer
James Carey Mooney (1936 – 2021) was a photographer for the New York Daily News and served in the United States Naval Reserve. He was a member of the Lions Club, the New York Press Photographers Association, and the New York Ford V-8 Club.
About the History Room
The Celia M. Hastings Local History Room is located on the main floor of the Patchogue-Medford Library. It is the purpose of the Local History Collection to provide the community with a reference collection on select aspects of the history of Patchogue, Medford, Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County, Long Island, and New York State, in various formats and media including, but not limited to, texts, photos, audiocassettes and electronic resources in order to create and improve the tools that promote its accessibility.
