Printed Music

How can the library help if I...

We have a vast collection of piano music for you to play at home. There are books on piano methods, simple arrangements, and a very large collection of original classics, jazz, and more.

We have a very extensive collection of vocal music; try our piano-vocal scores for musical shows, sacred music for church solos, wedding songs and our wide variety of popular and classical vocal works. We also have an extensive collection of more than 1,500 books of popular songs containing more than 100,000 songs.

There is music to enjoy playing alone, with friends or in performance for every instrument of the orchestra from bassoon to violin, including NYSSMA solos, chamber music, string quartets, woodwind and brass quintets, duets, and organ music for the church organist.

Ask about our books about the music business.

We have a selection of orchestral music with complete parts available for loan to conductors or representatives of community orchestras. Our usual 21-day loan period can be extended to allow for sufficient rehearsal time. We also have complete works in conductor’s score format of a dozen of the best known classical composers.

Who may borrow printed music?

Our printed music collection may be borrowed by any Suffolk County library cardholder, by any Nassau County library cardholder through LI Link, through the Long Island Library Resources Council Research Loan Program, or through OCLC (using code “SDE”).
